Metroline has over 1,600 buses and has been a Synectics customer since CCTV was first introduced on its buses in 2003. The installation of 400 T1600 DVRs offered a reliable, cost-effective, future-proof solution, by supporting a combination of IP and analog recording technology.
In late 2014 Synectics secured a new three-year service contract with Metroline to support and maintain CCTV systems on their fleet of 1,600 vehicles. This included the installation of 400 T1600 DVRs for the Metroline West fleet (acquired from First Group) over a six month period.
“From the start, we have had a strong relationship with Synectics, based on good service and a willingness to work with us on existing and new projects as our demands of technology increase.”Ian Foster, Engineering Director, Metroline
Synectics offered a reliable, cost-effective, future-proof solution, supporting a combination of IP and analog recording technology by installing T1600 Hybrid DVRs with HD IP road cameras and CMOS cameras to the agreed specification.
The delivery of a schedule minimizing disruption to daily operations included two teams of engineers, who were deployed to complete the installations over six separate depot locations. Working nights, the project was completed comfortably within the six month timescale given by Metroline.
Where possible, all existing camera and monitor equipment was integrated with the upgraded DVR and other installed equipment, keeping costs to a minimum.
Using our enhanced back-office software solution, Synergy 3 Transport, offered scope for further integration. Technical engineers coordinated the upgrades required to support the Synergy 3 software installation at each of the depots, as well as providing a full training package for Metroline staff.
