Display wall management tools are designed to show essential video in any number of layouts. Dynamic threat level indicators, color-coded alerts for instant activity prioritization, and live situational awareness information ensure all team members are up-to-speed with incident status.

Multi-user ‘live incident’ collaboration tools enable any number of operators to work in unison on challenging scenarios, for example where multiple suspicious events are occurring simultaneously or spread across a number of locations. Interactive mapping with Geospatial Information System (GIS) technology, task allocation, and dynamic workflows offering on-screen guidance also mean that everyone knows where incidents are taking place, who is dealing with what, and how they should respond. In live incident mode, activity from all operators involved is securely logged and stored as a single case file.

Collaborating with other teams and external agencies

Of course, teamwork shouldn’t be restricted to the control room. Managing a specific incident can, and usually does, necessitate wider involvement with personnel from any number of departments – from maintenance engineers to customer service staff.

In many cases, the suggested ‘next step’ is to inform personnel best positioned to help. Here, Synergy 3’s ability to unify and integrate communications is vital. For example, operators prompted to deploy security patrol teams to investigate a suspicious left item can pinpoint the nearest officer through GPS, issue an automated SMS message, and push an image of the item in question to smart devices. Full telecoms and radio systems can be integrated to allow immediate and coordinated communications through a single platform, which also ensures all activity is logged for post-incident procedural review.
